Volunteering
Participate in sea turtle protection and conservation efforts, such as night patrols and hatchling releases, with aminimum stay of one week at the Mayto Tortuguero Camp. Learn about the subprojects of the Mayto Environmental Education Center, such as composting, organic gardens, mangrove reforestation, etc. Also enjoy hiking activities in the region, snorkeling on nearby beaches, an open sea excursion, and the most beautiful sunsets!
You can participate during the summer (June - August) or winter (December and January) program.
The minimum stay is one week and participants may choose any of the following dates:

Activities to do during your stay:
The fee of $3,000 MX pesos per volunteer per week.
The program is intended for young people of legal age (+18) with the availability to participate for one week.

Section payment
An advance payment of $1,000MX (one thousand Mexican pesos) must be made by bank deposit or electronic transfer at least two weeks prior to participation in the program.
*The rest of the payment must be covered only in cash upon the volunteer's arrival at the Camp facilities.

Transportation to Mayto
Mobility from your city of origin to the Camp depends on each volunteer.

Cancellation policy
If you are unable to participate in the Volunteering once the advance payment has been made: 1) we will try to reschedule your participation in another available week, or 2) you can recommend someone you know to take your place.
If this is the case, please notify us at least a week in advance to make the change valid.
* This initial payment is intended to equip the camp prior to your arrival, so
We cannot make a refund.
What includes?
Complete weekly meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner daily)*
* A dinner is held in the town in favor of the local economy
Night patrol on ATV and/or walking to collect nests
Workshops and training on sea turtle conservation
Release of hatchlings into the sea
Full use of facilities and services in the Camp (kitchen, bathrooms, showers, dining room, camping and rest areas, sports areas, etc.)
Exit to the open sea to observe marine fauna
Visit to the Cabo Corrientes Lighthouse (Corrales beach) for hiking, snorkeling and observation of local flora and fauna**
**Access to this beach is limited to the passage of a river so the visit can be
suspended and another alternative activity will be carried out.
Recreational trips to beaches in the region (Tehuamixtle beach)
Local transportation (excursions to neighboring beaches or points of interest in the region)
