Participate in one of our activities and support the conservation of sea turtles:

Camping

Stay in our facilities under the camping modality and enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Mayto. Additionally, learn about the activities that the camp biologists carry out on a daily basis.

Release of hatchlings

Accompany and protect baby sea turtles on their way to the sea. Releases take place every day during sunset in front of the Mayto Tortuguero Camp (schedule may vary). Prior to release, a biologist from our staff teaches an environmental education workshop on the biology of sea turtles and protection activities carried out in the camp.

beach patrol

Observe nesting turtles during a guided tour, aboard an ATV, to search and collect nests on Mayto beach. Patrolling takes place during the night, from 10pm to 7am, lasting approximately 1-4 hours, depending on the season. Rounds can be scheduled at night (higher probability of encountering a nesting female) or at dawn (5-7am). All patrols are guided by one of the camp biologists.
